Former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner, who has twice had his political career derailed by sexting scandals, has hinted in a Facebook post that he might be working on a return to politics.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) may not be done with politics.

Weiner, whose run for New York City mayor imploded after it was revealed he hadn't stopped his online interactions with women apart from his wife, penned a Facebook post thanking his supporters and hinting at future political involvement.

"What's next? I'll keep you posted on my plans. But I hope we keep the band together," he says in the post.

"You have been an amazing resource and the network we have all become part of has helped lead the debate on national health care, the need for a smarter and more compassionate approach to the growing pockets of need in our nation, and we all have sought to make the argument that too often we progressives come to knife fights carrying library books."

Thank God. With Bloomberg departing and Obama as crippled as a president who (temporarily) controls the Senate has been in a generation or two, I need more LBJ/Biden-level political vulgarity to amuse me.

And if the Weiner thing doesn't pan out, there's always the pope's scintillating understanding of how markets and economies of scale don't work to enhance the lives of the poor. Should be an interesting couple of years.

He has no choice but to stay in politics--he's literally never done an honest day's work in his life. He ran for office immediately after graduating from college, not even bothering with the usual law degree, let alone a real job. After losing his seat in Congress, he briefly went into "consulting": It turns out that when you're married to the right-hand-person of the likely next president of the United States, the 1% just stuffs money into your pockets as you walk down the street, on general principles. But if his wife dumps him (or if Hillary throws his wife under the bus, which is the Clintons' usual practice with friends who have become inconvenient), what's he do with the rest of his life?
