Former Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner, who has twice had his political career derailed by sexting scandals, has hinted in a Facebook post that he might be working on a return to politics.

From The Hill:

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) may not be done with politics.

Weiner, whose run for New York City mayor imploded after it was revealed he hadn't stopped his online interactions with women apart from his wife, penned a Facebook post thanking his supporters and hinting at future political involvement.

"What's next? I'll keep you posted on my plans. But I hope we keep the band together," he says in the post.

"You have been an amazing resource and the network we have all become part of has helped lead the debate on national health care, the need for a smarter and more compassionate approach to the growing pockets of need in our nation, and we all have sought to make the argument that too often we progressives come to knife fights carrying library books."

Anyone who votes for this asshole gets what they deserve.

You said all that needs to be said about this degenerate. Nothing really needs to be added, but it looks like people are commenting about this political parasite anyway.

  2. Aloysious   12 years ago

Oh, good. Who doesn't want more Weiner?

  3. OldMexican   12 years ago

An old friend of mine joked about what would survive after a nuclear holocaust. Besides cockroaches, Volvos and Cobol, I would add Anthony Weiner.

  4. Kaptious Kristen   12 years ago

I'm pretty sure his cursing at potential voters played a big part in his mayoral implosion as well.

  5. flye   12 years ago

Ha ha, he said "growing pockets."

  6. sarcasmic   12 years ago

Can't keep him down. He just keeps popping up.

  7. Alice Bowie   12 years ago

    Anthony Weiner should STAY HOME.

I don't what he did was so crazy. I think the "Carlos Danger" thing is hilarious. However, he should just stop running for office.

As you can see, America was just not ready for an Black American President. Not even one with that is 1/2 white and the other 1/2 that happens to be negro isn't even the son of a former slave.

America is not ready for MERV-the-PERV as mayor of NYC.

That is literally the stupidest thing I've read all day, and I read a couple of the editorials on CNN. Bravo, parasite!

      1. KDN   12 years ago

Agreed, that was quite the turn. Are there even sons of former slaves still alive?

I kind of feel bad for Weiner. Life is tough for a beard.

Are there even sons of former slaves still alive?

Not American ones. The last one died three years ago.

            1. Harvard   12 years ago

Thomas Jefferson's great, great, great niece perhaps?

  8. Jordan   12 years ago

Witness the mind of a sociopath. He was soooo close to wielding the one ring. His thirst for power will never be slaked.

    1. Stevie OneLeg   12 years ago

And now he's reduced to constantly stroking his Precious.

  9. Dweebston   12 years ago

we all have sought to make the argument that too often we progressives come to knife fights carrying library books.

I didn't realize bulleted lists of OfA talking points pass for library books.

  10. Mainer2   12 years ago

progressives come to knife fights carrying library books

Riiight...because the violences comes from the right.

Not SEIU thugs busting people's legs.

Or black panthers at a polling place with billy clubs.

Or unionized gov't employees busting up a state capitol building.

    1. Jordan   12 years ago

Their entire philosophy is centered around violence.

      1. sarcasmic   12 years ago

It is rooted in "might makes right." That's why everything with the left is political. Because they want everything backed with state sanctioned violence.

    2. sarcasmic   12 years ago

But, but, but people on the right are Nazis! Never mind that's short for National Socialism, Bush is Hitler! Republicans are fascists! Conservative brown shirts! Get with the narrative!

      1. Mainer2   12 years ago

        ah yes, the narrative.

calling a political debate a "knife fight" isn't violent rhetoric when a prog does it.

    3. UnCivilServant   12 years ago

Have you seen Das Kapital? In deflecting knife blows and inflicting blunt force trauma, books of that size are hard to beat.

      1. tarran   12 years ago

My dog shredded and destroyed my dad's copy of Das Kapital. I found this hilarious.

        1. Harvard   12 years ago

That would explain the scooting across the carpet on his ass.

  11. PRX   12 years ago

he's such a horrible human being, what else could he possibly do?

    1. JW   12 years ago

      Oooo, let's find out.

  12. Specail Sauce   12 years ago

"...and we all have sought to make the argument that too often we progressives come to knife fights carrying library books."

It seems progressives do have a fondness for fiction. Too bad none of those books pertain to history, economics, or logic.

  13. Fist of Etiquette   12 years ago

Weiner, whose run for New York City mayor imploded after it was revealed he hadn't stopped his online interactions with women apart from his wife...

Which only helped make Weiner grow.

  14. JW   12 years ago

Oh please, let it be true. It's comedy fucking gold.

Let this man publicly go down in flames time and time again.

    1. UnCivilServant   12 years ago

If he keeps doing that, it'll provide a distraction from the other NY politicians that need to go down in flames.

      1. JW   12 years ago

It seems that he's completely oblivious to his own arrogance. His complete and total lack of shame should get him in on the first vote for the Sociopath Hall of Infamy. At least he can get elected to that.

Anyone who can give us this gift over and over should be treasured.

  15. HazelMeade   12 years ago

I suspect he gets off on public exposure.

  16. OO=======D   12 years ago

    Bring it, bitch! Bring it!

  17. GILMORE   12 years ago

"...the need for a smarter and more compassionate approach to the growing pockets of need in our nation..."

NEEDS MOAR BULLSHIT CODE LANGUAGE FOR HANDING OUT MONIES TO DEM CRONIES

"Pockets of need" = new term for 'the need to find more Pauls to pay after systematically raping and extorting Peter to death'

I swear to god this guy is a symbol of everything despicable about our political system. While the politician is, as a species, the lowest form of human life - this guy is the unique mutation that maximizes everything awful about regular politicians and makes it just that *extra bit slimy*.

  18. Knarf Yenrab (prev. An0nB0t)   12 years ago

Thank God. With Bloomberg departing and Obama as crippled as a president who (temporarily) controls the Senate has been in a generation or two, I need more LBJ/Biden-level political vulgarity to amuse me.

And if the Weiner thing doesn't pan out, there's always the pope's scintillating understanding of how markets and economies of scale don't work to enhance the lives of the poor. Should be an interesting couple of years.

  19. dinkster   12 years ago

He didn't have a book in his hands, that's for sure.

  20. Finchster   12 years ago

He has no choice but to stay in politics--he's literally never done an honest day's work in his life. He ran for office immediately after graduating from college, not even bothering with the usual law degree, let alone a real job. After losing his seat in Congress, he briefly went into "consulting": It turns out that when you're married to the right-hand-person of the likely next president of the United States, the 1% just stuffs money into your pockets as you walk down the street, on general principles. But if his wife dumps him (or if Hillary throws his wife under the bus, which is the Clintons' usual practice with friends who have become inconvenient), what's he do with the rest of his life?
