UN: Food Crisis in CAR is Getting Worse
Violence disrupting distribution of food
The UN's World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that up to a quarter of the Central African Republic's (CAR) population risks going hungry because of fighting between Christian and Muslim militias.
The WFP also said that the number of people in need was likely to keep on rising, as the violence makes it difficult to distribute aid.
Locals queuing for food aid in the capital Bangui spoke of their fears that the crisis is worsening.
