Obama's Approval Rating Now Lower Than "Crack-Smoking Mayor" Rob Ford's

According to the latest polling data, Rob Ford, Toronto's notoriously inappropriate mayor, is more popular among his constituents than President Obama is among Americans.

A CBS News poll released last week found that Obama's job approval rating has hit 37 percent, the lowest of his presidency yet and a nine-point drop since October. By comparison, a Forum Research survey of 1,049 Toronto voters found that 42 percent support Mayor Ford's job in the city.
The CBS poll found what may be the most significant contributing factor to Obama's dismal ratings: strong disapproval of Obamacare. From CBS News:
A rocky beginning to the opening of the new health insurance exchanges has also taken its toll on how Americans perceive the Affordable Care Act. Now, approval of the law has dropped to 31 percent - the lowest number yet recorded in CBS News Polls, and a drop of 12 points since last month. Sixty-one percent disapprove (a high for this poll), including 46 percent who say they disapprove strongly.
President Obama has also taken a hit on views of his honesty. During the presidential campaign last fall, 60 percent of voters said Mr. Obama was honest and trustworthy, but just 49 percent of Americans think that today.
Obama's disapproval rating is also at a record high of 57 percent.
Rob Ford's approval rating remarkably dropped by only two percentage points from earlier this month (since he made lewd sexual remarks in a live press conference, trampled over a Councilmember during a city hall meeting, and was caught on video shouting about wanting to kill a man), and is actually three percentage points higher than it was last year (before he admitted to smoking crack in a "drunken stupor.")
The Telegraph reports, "The result suggests that Mr Ford could still be competitive in next year's municipal election, although only 33 per cent of those polled said they would vote for him in 2014."
In addition to the CBS poll, Gallup's daily poll measuring three-day averages shows Obama's approval rating today as equal to Ford's at 42 percent.
Congress meanwhile, is pulling a 7.5 percent approval rating according to a Huffington Post poll.

Maybe we can do a trade.
We would have to send cash Toronto's way to get it approved by the commissioner- but I think we should pull the trigger on this deal.
Yeah, I came here to say "of course Ford has a higher ranking; he's doing a better job."
As Andy Levy noted a week or so ago, Rob Ford is now "America's Mayor?"
There has been an utter delight among more left minded Americans concerning the buffonery of the Toronto mayor.
This is I believe, well out of proportion of the attention that conservatives would be giving any hypothetical left wing version of a *Rob Ford.
Is this because this last breakdown of Rob Ford has occurred as the President has been on his October poll slide?
Right, 'cause conservatives completely ignored Marion Barry.
Re: Not a libertarian,
It would be so unlike them to not be delighted by the most trivial of things, clapping and laughing and "doing their business" in their knickers.
I have to admit, I've been rather delighted by the whole thing myself. I wish more politicians were unrepentant and hilarious party animals.
If only Obama would have contented himself with grabbing Katie Couric's ass and smoking some crack in the White House living quarters rather than fucking up everyone's health insurance.
Indeed. When it come to government officials, I'll take a crack smoking buffoon over a righteous man anyday.
Bill Clinton for Obama, straight up? Oh, yeah, baby. I'd take that deal.
(So, yeah. I'm obviously a racist.)
The older I get the more I am convinced we should fill political offices by lottery like we do juries. It is not like we could do any worse. And we would probably do better in a lot of cases. And even the bad choices would mostly be buffoons who just wanted to get laid and indulge in the perks of the office, which we are way rich enough to afford. What we can't afford is any more righteous crusaders.
Yes. A fool with a mission can do vastly more damage than the most corrupt thief.
Rob Ford my be the most honest man on any of the American continents.
And almost certainly is the most honest politician.
!!! KEEP DOPE ALIVE !!!
What's the big deal with a crack smoking mayor.
I'm sure we have mayors that are alcoholics, gamblers, womenizers.
Well, Ford didn't dick with anyone's insurance.
How could he? It's Canada.
Now that I think of it, the whole Obama presidency is probably a Clinton-machine conspiracy, designed so that we enthusiastically welcome back our old Clinton overlords.
I find this mayor amusing. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
Toronto stripped Ford of his most important powers. Now the most he can do is appear for photo opps at ribbon cutting ceremonies.
You would trade him for the most powerful man on earth? Tis the season for treason, eehhhh
Wait, does this mean he can't be Grand Marshal of the Orange Day Parade?
Explanation: Toronto, and the Province of Ontario in general, is the center of Orange Order activity. Until the 1960s the Orange Day parade shut down pretty much all off the city and it was expected that the Mayor would be the Grand Marshal, given that it was unimaginable that Toronto would ever elect anything but a Protestant for mayor.
It was not until the late 1960s when a popular Italian-Canadian was in the running for the Mayor's slot that anyone even considered questiuoning whether the Orange Day parade was something the city ought to be sponsoring.
I live in Toronto and I am proud to say for the next mayoral election, I will be voting for Rob Ford, AKA the biggest middle finger to the establishment politicians in Canada.
