Negative Opinions of Obamacare Up Again
53 percent have negative opinion of Affordable Care Act
Negative opinions of the new national health care law are up again following a rollout plagued with problems. With some Americans having their health insurance plans canceled under the new law, more voters than ever oppose the government requiring every insurance plan to cover the exact same set of medical procedures.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters now have at least a somewhat favorable opinion of the health care law, while 53% view it at least somewhat unfavorably. The passion remains on the side of the opponents. The new findings include 18% with a Very Favorable view of the law, while 42% have a Very Unfavorable one. Unfavorables are up from 48% just two weeks ago, while favorable reviews are down three points. Positive impressions of the health care law have fluctuated from a low of 39% to a high of 47% in regular weekly tracking this year. Unfavorable opinions have run from 48% to 55% in that same period. But those with Strongly Unfavorable views have generally outnumbered those with Strongly Favorable ones by two-to-one.
