Ira Stoll on How the Baseball Experts Got It Wrong

Enjoying the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals? Almost as entertaining is looking back at the pre-season predictions of the baseball "experts." As Ira Stoll explains, back in March, the ESPN web site published the predictions of 43 baseball so-called experts on the 2013 season. Not a single one of ESPN's 43 predictions had either the Red Sox or the Cardinals in the World Series. It's a good lesson in why we should treat all "expert" predictions, whether they're about sports or politics, with the skepticism they deserve.
