Cops in Edison, New Jersey Sue Over Allegedly Being Targeted by Rogue Internal Affairs Unit

Over their support of the mayor

|

Seven Edison police officers have filed suit against their chief, a former internal affairs investigator and the township, claiming they were targeted for retaliation and placed on a secret hit list because of their political support for the town's mayor.

The officers say they and their relatives — along with certain township officials — were investigated by a rogue element in the internal affairs unit and that they suffered demotions, punitive shift changes, petty criticism and increased monitoring.
