Sen. Reid Says No to Conference Committee, Government Shutdown Looms
"We will not go to conference until we get a clean" bill - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said late Monday night that he will not agree with House Republicans on sending the budget situation to a conference committee.
"We like to resolve issues, but we will not go to conference with a gun to our heads," Reid said.
Reid added: "We will not go to conference until we get a clean" bill.
