DCCC Chair: GOP Opposition to Syria Intervention Part of a "Civil War," Won't Affect 2014 Elections
Steve Israel says the "hypocrisy" shocks him
New York Rep. Steve Israel , who oversees Democratic campaign efforts in the House, Tuesday cast Republican opposition to President Obama's proposed military strike on Syria as part of a "civil war" the GOP is waging against White House policies.
"Does anybody truly believe that if Mitt Romney had been elected president and asked the House Republicans for exactly what President Obama is asking that House Republicans would oppose it to the extent that they are opposing what President Obama wants?" Israel said at a breakfast sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor. "The level of hypocrisy is what amazes me the most."
