Judge Won't Halt Possible Buyout of Las Vegas Newspaper
City could become one-paper town
A federal judge says he won't stop the company that owns the Las Vegas Review-Journal from trying to buy out the family publishers of the rival Las Vegas Sun.
U.S. District Judge James Mahan ruled Friday that it was too early in the process to issue an injunction blocking Stephens Media from offering to buy Sun newspaper and Internet interests from Greenspun family member trustees.
Sun Editor-Publisher Brian Greenspun says he'll keep fighting to prevent the Review-Journal from buying the paper and killing a 1989 joint operating agreement.
