Archaeologists in Turkey Say They May Have Found Piece of Jesus' Cross
Years of analysis to come
Archaeologists working at an ancient church in Turkey believe they have unearthed a piece of the cross used to crucify Jesus.
But it could take years of analysis before the world will know for sure.
"We have found a holy thing in a chest; it's a piece of a cross," said one of the archaeologists.

If they date it to 33 AD, we'll know that it was Jesus' cross, because the Romans were very stingy with crucifiction back then; they hardly did it at all!
Certainly someone would have preserved Jesus's cross decades before the Gospels were written and three centuries before Constantine issued the Edict of Milan.
