Abby Schachter on Chuck Schumer's Greek Yogurt Crony Capitalism

Starting this month, the USDA has announced that it will test out a new product in school lunches—so-called Greek yogurt. Pulling strings behind the scenes has been New York Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer, who lobbied the USDA on behalf of Chobani, a New York-based Greek yogurt business. While Greek yogurt may be high in protein, writes Abby Schachter, so are a lot of other, less expense and less politically-connected food products. Adding Chobani to the school lunch program is just a fat-lot of government cronyism.
