Gunshot wound to the head
A South Texas judge was found dead in his own chambers Monday night of an apparent gunshot wound to the head, authorities said today.
They do not suspect foul play.
State District Judge Tom Greenwell's body was discovered by a cleaning crew in his Corpus Christi office on the eighth floor of the Nueces County Courthouse Monday evening, investigators said. A gun was discovered near the body.
"A weapon has been recovered," Capt. Monica Rios of the Nueces County Sheriff's Office said. "We do not suspect foul play at this time."
