Sculpture of Hugo Chavez's Head Put on Cuban Mountain
Climbers paying tribute
HAVANA, June 7 (UPI) — Hikers said they placed a sculpture of the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at the top of Pico Caracas, one of the highest elevations in Cuba.
Rene Gonzalez, a Cuban intelligence officer, took part in the climb to pay tribute to Chavez, the Presna Latina news agency said.
Gonzalez was one of the five men convicted in the United States for monitoring the activities of violent anti-Cuban groups based in Miami.
