Ball State University Drops Eminent Domain Attack on Family Print Shop
A victory for the little guy and property rights
The Hiatt Printing family loving trust won its dog fight with Ball State University that dropped its eminent domain action against the campus print shop.
Chris Hiatt, that Good Government guy, was stunned but exhilarated by the news he learned from friends after BSU informed the media instead of Hiatt's attorney.
The Ball State Board of Trustees met Thursday to increase tuition, salaries and spending for the next two years, but President Jo Ann Gora made no mention of dropping the lawsuit against Hiatt during her report.
Tony Proudfoot, associate vice president of communication and media, released a statement near the end of the business day, saying BSU declined to move forward with its proposed hotel and conference center at the current location.
