Officials at Heights High School in Kansas suspended senior class president Wesley Teague for Twitter comments they said insulted the school's athletes. Some of the jocks had started using the hashtag #HeightsU for tweets about the school's sports programs. Teague, a member of the track team, tweeted "'Heights U' is equivalent to WSU's football team," a reference to Wichita State University, which dropped its football program in 1996.

"Heights High has hit a new low." You can use that, Teague. #IronicName

      Heights High Hits Historic Low

Yeah, that BURN of a Tweet was totally worthy of a supension!

The word "butthurt" comes to mind, as well as a couple others - "fuck off, assholes". Jesus Christ, school administrators suck worse than ever.

"#GoPanthers is equivalent to Washington Senators" - similar Tweet from my high school days in the 70's - got me drawn and quartered and put into an Japanese internment camp. Totally tougher times back then.

How did you tweet with parchment and a quill pen?

I keep expecting a report that the unemployment rolls are full of ex-Reasonoids with poor editing skills.

And yet they got rid of Lucy. 🙁

Once again showing that the State is the biggest bully of them all.

  5. Live Free or Diet   13 years ago

Yep, their justification boils down to "I'm bigger than you."

    1. Live Free or Diet   13 years ago

...supposed to be replying to Ted S.

      1. Ted S.   13 years ago

At least you intend to reply in the proper place, unlike P Brooks.

  6. Robert   13 years ago

I guess you had to be there. After RTFU, I have to conclude there had to be a lot more to this. First of all, inferring what was meant by "Heights U", then the inference about the remark about that sig, then the rxn...it doesn't add up.
