Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro asked the United States to "respect" his country, and warned about the raise of an extreme right in the Caribbean nation but said he'll do everything possible "in order to stop the appearance of a new Pinochet."
During an interview with Le Monde Diplomatique, Maduro assured that the Venezuelan opposition is dominated by the extreme right that "seeks to destroy democracy and impose a totalitarian project."
