Henry Capriles Demands Recount in Venezuelan Election

Received at least 49.1 percent of the vote

Socialist Nicolas Maduro, hand-picked successor of the late leader Hugo Chavez, has won a narrow victory in Venezuela's presidential poll with 50.7% of the vote.

However opposition candidate Henrique Capriles, who won 49.1% of the vote, said he would not recognise the result, "until each Venezuelan vote is recounted".
