UN Weapons Inspection Team is Ready to Go to Syria
Awaiting approval from the Syrian government
UNITED NATIONS, April 10 (UPI) -- A U.N. weapons inspections team is on standby to deploy to Syria once the government gives its approval for the mission, the U.N. secretary-general said.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon received a formal request in March from Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations Bashar Ja'afari to look into claims anti-government forces used chemical weapons in Aleppo in mid-March.
