Gun Background Check Bill Would Register Firearms and Criminalize Many Gun Owners
Loaning a gun to a friend would be illegal
When I go shooting with friends, we head out into the desert and inevitably we admire each others guns and swap 'em for a try to compare their accuracy, feel and overall capacity for fun. That makes us criminals under the "background check" bill currently under consideration in the U.S. Senate. Sen. Charles Schumer, who proposed the measure, has packed his legislation full of legal snares virtually guaranteed to turn gun owners into lawbreakers. That's an impressive little sleight of hand for legislation considered to be the only sort of gun control with a chance to make it through Congress.

I’m confused, why is there a hat tip for a Reason article? And why do some Reason posts show up in the Reason 24/7 feed?
Reason posts that involve original reporting are treated as news articles and linked here. The hat tip is actually for a tip that led to the article. Sorry for the confusion.
