Snow Shuts Closes the Federal Government

A massive late-winter storm has pummeled the capital, closing the federal government as citizens braced for more power outages.

The worst of the storm was expected to arrive by midday in the Washington area, with local weather forecasters predicting more than 25 centimeters of snowfall in some of the surrounding areas. All federal government offices in Washington are closed.
