Brickbat: I'll Be Your Belly Dancer, and You Can Be My Sheik

An Egyptian court has ordered TV station ElTet to stop broadcasting. The court ruled that the station, which carries bellydancing shows and ads for matchmaking services and sexual enhancement products, airs material that is offensive and arousing. It also found the station is operating without a license.

They need a friggin LICENSE to broadcast a TV show in Egypt? How barbaric. Thank Jesus I live in the USA.
They have TVs in Egypt?
This doesn't seem fair. Oh, to find a truly free peer amid the northern African nations. We're all in denial about the Arab Spring.
One thing we're not in denial about, and that's Irish Spring. It gets you clean as a whistle!
HINT: There are three puns.
Nice. You win a car or van!
Pharoah was tough. Well done, sir.
Material that's offensive and arousing? My kind of station!
That's also how I would describe Reason commenters
Leave Warty alone!
You know they've really embraced the democratic ideal when they move from suicide bombings at the station's studios to revoking its broadcast license.
"..material that is offensive and arousing."
There is the problem right there. For the prudes, bluenoses and misogynists those two are synonymous, here and in egypt.
You're comment offends me. I'll be in my bunk.
Who is qualified to judge that something is both? Are thet implicitly suggesting that their countrymen are aroused by truly offensive things?
It's also a marvelous loophole for the dirtiest pornographers, if both elements have to be fulfilled. After all, some material might be so offensive that almost no one could find it arousing (See, e.g., Two Girls, One Cup).
"I am going to need to see your license to thrill"
Too late.
Will a licence to chill do?
No, officer, but I do have a license to kill anyone who tries to tear us apart.
Nothing like a good belly dance to start the day lol.

"Offensive and arousing" in *America*
Oh, props to Anon-Bot.
The problem is, Pedobot wants children to belly dance for him.
Another win for the (libertarian) Arab spring!
