John Kerry Says Mali Needs a Long-Term African Solution
French lending a hand in their previous colony will only last so long
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says an African solution will be the ultimate answer to Mali's long-term stability.
During a press conference in Paris Wednesday, Kerry said that it is not the intention of the United States or France to have a long-term presence in the country. "Our shared goal now should be for African and U.N. entities to step up so that France has the ability to be able to step back," he said.
