Most Palestinian Prisoners End Hunger Strike

4,500 were on hunger strike after a prisoner died

Most of the 4,500 high security Palestinian prisoners on Monday ended their hunger-strike, which was started as a protest over the death of Palestinian inmate, Arafat Jaradat, who died in an Israeli prison Saturday.

Around 1,100 prisoners continued to refuse meals Monday morning at the Megiddo Prison, where Jaradat died, said Israeli Prison Service officials.
