Lack of Access to President Frustrates White House Press
Not so transparent
The White House press corps is expressing frustration over its lack of access this weekend to President Obama, who was on a golfing vacation in Florida.
Ed Henry, the Fox News correspondent and president of the White House Correspondents Association, released a statement Sunday evening in which he said the press corps had been given no access to the president, who was joined on his outing by star golfer Tiger Woods, and that the WHCA would fight for greater transparency in the days ahead.
"Speaking on behalf of the White House Correspondents Association, I can say a broad cross section of our members from print, radio, online and TV have today expressed extreme frustration to me about having absolutely no access to the President of the United States this entire weekend," Henry said in a statement, relayed in a White House pool report. "There is a very simple but important principle we will continue to fight for today and in the days ahead: transparency."

Four years in and White House correspondents are just now noticing a lack of transparency?
It does make them look a trifle slow on the uptake?.
They're just bitter because they weren't invited to the cool kids party. They're like the entourage of the popular kid in school and they're hurt when he doesn't let them tag along to hang with other cool people.
Poor babies.
Access to the president? Guy makes it sound like the POTUS is some fun ride that got closed down for the week end. He's a person, damn it!
I think for a lot of the media, it IS a ride, only in reverse.
i'm all for transparency, but the press doesn't need to become a bunch of stalkers. if the president is golfing and having some fun with tiger woods, they can all take a break from one another for a few hours. it's not hypocritical to advocate for one, and give the guy the other now and again. if anythin, and it's more than this even, it's good politics.
The press is so awful I find myself sympathizing for a guy who deserves to be impeached and then tried for murder.
Watching Mr. Community Organizer golf with billionaires behind tall gates reminds me of pigs walking on two feet in Animal Farm.
Being a community organizer in Chicago is nothing like the character Billy Dee Williams played in Mahogany?
The press just writes fairy tales about obama anyway; so what difference, at this point, does it make anyway?
Yeah, never to early to use that phrase, which pretty much sums up D.C's attitude to the constitution, our future as a nation, looming bankruptcy, inevitable tyranny, etc, etc.
USE IT EARLY AND OFTEN!
The White House press corps continues to illustrate why the real investigative journalism is more often found on blogs than in the mainstream press. They're bitching because they don't get to take pictures of their God King hanging with Tiger Woods? Awww...suck it, sycophants.
Tiger, Obummer, and the secret service must be having orgies galore. Gee whiz, I hope they use condoms.
