Date for Mali Election Set

Mali's Minister for Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Regional Development of the Republic, Moussa Sinko Coulibaly has announced at a press conference in Bamako that the first round of the presidential election will be held on the first Sunday in July this year, which will fall on the 7th.
Following the recapture late last month by French and Malian troops of the biggest northern towns of Gao and Timbuktu, interim President Dioncounda Traore had announced that his government would hold national elections by July 31.
