Cops Interrogate 7-Year-Old Bronx Boy For Hours Over Missing $5 in School
New York's finest
This kid was no killer — but some callous Bronx cops sure treated him like one.
Instead of earning himself a simple trip to the principal's office, a terrified 7-year-old boy was hauled out of class, handcuffed like a hardened criminal and "interrogated" by police for a grueling 10 hours — all over a playground dispute involving $5, his family is charging.

Nothing to see here, Citizen. Move along.
Looks like the cops would rather deal with a kid than real criminals. The 10 hour grilling probably cost the city about $700 in tracking down the truth if they ever found it.
If you were a cop would you rather grill a kid or go arrest some gang members wanted for violent crimes? It's like a snow day for kids to get out of work. But it's not what we pay cops to do.
