Inauguration Speech Sets Progressive Tone
But, can he tolerate gay libertarians?
President Barack Obama delivered a forceful defense of the nation's safety net programs, and vowed to expand gay rights and tackle the problem of climate change in his second inaugural address Monday afternoon.
The speech was a bolder and more specific defense of the president's liberal governing vision than the address he gave four years ago. For his first inaugural address, Obama stuck to a broader outline of his ideals and called on politicians to overcome partisan differences and work together in the face of economic crisis.

Which is it? Pretend Climate Change is real or help the economy recover?
Finally a President with the courage to tell us the truth - that the government owes us more free stuff, and that someone else should pay for it!!
Why did Obama just let the Kyoto Protocal die if he's going to be pushing climate change over the next four years?
I think he may be lying to us again.
Nothing good will come of this, unless it engenders real opposition.
Now that he's in for his second term, he can really ramp the stupid up, and wallow in his crapulence.
The big question is, can he do the Democratic party what Bush did to the Republican party? Can he seriously hurt the party and get someone elected just for not being him?
I doubt it. I expect Biden will cruise to a win in 2016.
Obama seems closer to their Reagan...
Not even close. Reagan actually peeled Dems off because the Dem party had veered left. Obama is not carving out any part of the Repubs into supporting him. No way that whole coalition holds for Biden.
Are you serious? Are you SERIOUS? Biden wouldn't even win the nomination. He's an embarrassment to the democrats as much as he is a laughingstock to the reasonable world.
2016 will depend solely on when the tidal wave of price inflation hits. If it hits while Obama's still in office, a fiscal conservative could and should take the throne as well as Congress. I mean, why not, if the free shit has dried up?
If the tsunami/depression doesn't hit by then, expect more of the same: high real unemployment, increased federal hiring, borrowing, and spending, and horrible FDR-style stagnation.
We're living in the good old days. Enjoy them and start investing in nickles while you still can.

The first black president is among the worst. It's a shame.
What a bore. Guess he has to put on that happy face so that the dirty backroom deals go unnoticed. Reagan? lol they wish.
