Tate Watkins on Foreign Aid in Haiti
After an earthquake devastated Haiti in 2010, foreign governments and agencies such as the World Bank sent aid and advisors to the country. In The Big Truck That Went By, the AP's Jonathan Katz reports that the money has largely gone to outsiders operating with limited local, language, and cultural comprehension, with few positive outcomes for the island itself.
