UK Parliament to Investigate BBC Severance Packages
Leaving the Beeb was like "winning the lottery" said some MPs
The National Audit Office is to examine the scale of severance packages at the corporation after MPs raised concerns that leaving the BBC was like "winning the lottery".
The corporation was criticised by MPs last week for its "cavalier" use of licence fee payers' money after admitting that George Entwistle, the former director-general, was given a payoff of £450,000, double the amount he was entitled to.
