Scottish police say they have arrested a 17-year-old from Aberdeen, who wasn't named in press accounts, for sending a racist tweet to soccer player Jason Brown. The youth allegedly sent the message after Brown's Welsh team beat Scotland in a World Cup qualifier.

Disagree. Alan Scott is the worst. Powerless against hard wood??? How was it not obvious he was a homosexual all these years?? (NTTAWWT!)

Well, Britain is a country where a teenager was arrested, charged and convicted (overturned on appeal) for causing alarm and distress by saying "woof" to two labradors, so no surprises really

I thought HRM The Queen, Protector of the Realm and Ruler of the Andals and the First Men, owned all the Tweets in England?

A teenager has been arrested over a racist comment allegedly made online to Wales goalkeeper Jason Brown after a World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

Why is it so difficult for reporters to use the word "allegedly" in stories about a crime that occurred. Was the racist comment allegedly made online, in the Twitterverse, or was it somehow conjured up as skywriting over the soccerfield the goalie was playing on?

ALLEGEDLY SHOULD DESCRIBE "RACIST" YOU ALLEGED JOURNALIST!!!!

Nothing new here to see. In the U.K. they take racist language serious. People go to jail, people lose their jobs, heck athletes receive suspensions for what is found to be racist language. Suarz of Liverpool 8 games for example.
