Stephen Colbert May Have His Eyes on DeMint's Senate Seat
Would be the second no-longer-so-funny comedian in that body
A new Twitter account -- @ColbertforSC -- was launched after GOP Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina announced he will resign to become president of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.
We can't actually authenticate that the comedian and political satirist is running the account, but that's his picture. The tweets also sound like stuff the Comedy Central host would say.
The first tweet said: "Reporting for duty, South Carolina!" and there is a link to a Colbert for Senate website that doesn't exist yet.
