The main road connecting the Syrian capital of Damascus with the city's airport was open but no flights were operating on Friday, according to the opposition group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Fighting again between rebels and forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad disrupted much of the capital and there was no Internet service throughout much of Syria for a second-straight day.
