Biden Repays Costco Chief's Support By Attending Store Opening
Friends in high-ish places
Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal backed President Obama's re-election bid, and on Thursday, Vice President Joseph R. Biden returned the favor.
Mr. Biden took a motorcade to attend the grand opening of the discount retailer's first store in the District of Columbia, located on Market Street in the city's Northeast quadrant. He was greeted by Mr. Sinegal and Costco CEO Craig Jelinek. Mayor Vincent C. Gray and other D.C. officials also attended.

I just threw up a little in my mouth.
One hand washes the other…
So I am supposed to believe this timeline – that Costco supported Obama, Obama got re-elected and now Costco gets to open a store in DC (where Walmart was banned for refusing to pay tribute to the local warlords)? It takes much longer than a few weeks or even a few months to get a store built and running – the quid for this particular pro quo was tendered long before the Costco CEO spoke up in defense of Obama. Where’s the real story of how Costco got permission to open a store in DC?
