Santa Monica Wants a Piece of Outdoor Fitness Classes
And just how is this different than a protection racket?
Westsiders, your days of sweating in the park and on the sand with a group of fellow fitness fanatics could soon be largely impacted, depending on a Santa Monica City Council vote next year.
The city reportedly believes trainers are reaping the monetary benefits of holding group fitness classes outdoors on city property, like public parks and beaches, instead of ponying up the dough to rent a studio, according to KTLA.
