It's a great place to visit--you can get a pamphlet with a self-guided tour and wander from building to building (you'll need a car). The tourist bureau has two-story tall Chihuly that's spectacular. Some nice restaurants and B&B's. Recommended.

Columbus is a great city. I grew up about 45 minutes from there and would travel through there often on my way to Bloomington. Love the architecture. Interesting video. File this under private wealth, and organic growth develop internationally important architecture and a beautiful city?

Lived there for several years. City that small with the amenities it had was rare in the area. Incidentally, the libertarian candidate for governor of Indiana (Ken Gividen) in 2004 lives in Columbus, In.
