Reason TV Replay: Honor Flight Brings World War II Vets to See Their Memorial
Back in August, a documentary by Reason TV alumn Dan Hayes premiered to 28,442 people at Miller Park, breaking the world record for the largest movie screening. The film, "Honor Flight," was an outgrowth of an earlier Reason TV video Hayes produced for Veterans Day 2009.
Here is the orginal text from the November 11, 2009 video:
On Saturday November 7, 2009 Reason.tv's Dan Hayes caught up with the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight from Wisconsin. Honor Flight is an organization that provides World War II vets and terminally ill patients from other conflicts free travel to Washington, D.C. to tour memorials.
Hayes talks with veterans who recognize that this is not only their first visit to the World War II monument, but may well be their last trip away from home. "Every day is a bonus," is the motto of Honor Flight and it's a sentiment that rings true for the men who fought and those of us who continue to benefit from their service and sacrifice.

Thanks to Joe Dean, Jane Dean, Mark Grams, Liane Baranek, The Gebauers, Cindy and Dave Haupt, Nancy and Steve Hayes, and all the guardians and the vets we spoke with Saturday.

It turns out Petraeus was going to defend the White House over the fake Benghazi scandal and Eric Cantor blew the whistle on the General.
Another nontroversy snuffed out.
Too bad.
the fake Benghazi scandal
Biden’s Douche, and in what way is it “fake”?
Doesn’t fit the narrative, therefore it’s “fake”.
Unjustifiable fuck-ups are at their most “fake” when they’re really egregious.
I hope they enjoyed it – they’re certainly entitled to it.
Thanks for the post; I’m going to see if my 92 year old grandfather would be interested in participating in this. He fought in Italy as part of the 10th Mountain Division.
…breaking the world record for the largest movie screening.
Exactly how big was the movie screen? I saw a 70″ diagonal Mitsubishi DLP TV at the Best Buy that might give it a run for the record.
Thanks, veterans, for your service. And I’ll see everyone else on Drone Appreciation Day.
Thanks, veterans…especially my dad (Vietnam-Army helicopter pilot), grandfather (WWII-Navy fireman) and brother-in-law (Iraq x2, Afghanistan-Army MP officer), who is in Iraq as we speak getting combat pay in a “non-war”.
Congratulations to all the men who fought and died to prevent some country not called America from taking over the world…
huge props to WWII vets and to all of those (civilian and military) who continue to fight to keep our rights robust and meaningful in a world full of people and institutions that seek to constrict our freedoms
um, lol on article title: (5) CIVIL RIGHTS ACT LAWSUIT: GENUINE ISSUE OF MATERIAL FACT EXISTS AS TO WHETHER USE OF PEPPER SPRAY AND BATON AGAINST BROCCOLI- AND TOMATO- EATING TRAFFIC DETAINEE WHO WAS A JACKASS BUT NOT A SAFETY THREAT IN REFUSING TO GET BACK INTO HIS VEHICLE WAS REASONABLE UNDER THE FACTS ALLEGED BY PLAINTIFF ? In Young v. County of Los Angeles, 655 F.3d 1156 (9th Cir., Aug. 26, 2011),
Broccoli? Motherfucker, that shit’s lethal. Stay the fuck back.
word . the gist of the case (a good one for liberty) is that … while the officer had reasonable grounds to order the plaintiff back into his vehicle and that his not doing so would have justified an arrest for obstruction…
(which i agree with)…
consequently just walking up to the guy, and telling him one more time to get back in the car, and upon being met with refusal – pepper spraying him out of the blue
NOT justified. the guy was passive resistant at worst.
call for backup, REASON with him upon their arrival, and then give him a choice – get back in car or go to jail.
but don’t just rip out the pepper spray and start a spray’ing for a mere contempt of cop from an otherwise cooperative/peaceful/nonthreatening broccoli eating motherfucker
word to that
