Gabby Giffords, Jared Laughner In Intense Staring Contest at Hearing
The mass murderer has been sentenced to consecutive life terms in prison
Mark Kelly, the astronaut husband of former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, described a "pretty intense" court hearing Thursday during which he felt Giffords and the man who nearly killed her had "quite the staring contest."
A federal judge sentenced Jared Lee Loughner to seven consecutive life terms, plus 140 years, for killing six people and injuring 13 others, including Giffords, in a January 2011 shooting rampage in Tucson.
