Barack Obama: We're Going to Finish What We Started
President's last campaign missive
The last(?) e-mail of the campaign:
Edward --
I'm about to go speak to the crowd here in Chicago, but I wanted to thank you first.
I want you to know that this wasn't fate, and it wasn't an accident. You made this happen.
You organized yourselves block by block. You took ownership of this campaign five and ten dollars at a time. And when it wasn't easy, you pressed forward.
I will spend the rest of my presidency honoring your support, and doing what I can to finish what we started.
But I want you to take real pride, as I do, in how we got the chance in the first place.
Today is the clearest proof yet that, against the odds, ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.
There's a lot more work to do.
But for right now: Thank you.
Barack

Obama's going to finish what he started, all over our faces.
Hey Baby finish what you started
How about getting this started?

"We're going to finish what we started." sounds like the tagline for a eagerly awaited, summer action flick sequel.
Barack Obama II: Barack Harder
Sounds like a threat more than a promise.
Or a really ominous prediction.
Overcome powerful interests? Does the President seriously not realize that he's the most powerful man on the planet or is this just reflexive, power to the power, speak? I'm a realist, so probably he has no clue.
Come on now, he's just a humble everyman who sings al jolson tunes to his wife and sits in at the View instead of going to work.
What he has no clue about is leadership, management or the proper role of government.
He's been in bed with "powerful interests" for a long time. It's disheartening how many are foolish enough to buy this bullshit.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Wait, let me get my logical fallacies straight: Is that circular logic or begging the question?
argumentum ad goatseum
ur 1 cheeky kunt m8
So it was you, Krayewski. You made Obama win another four years, you fucker.
Oh, god, now the folks on TV are waving their little flags back in forth in unison.
You made this happen.
Ha! Classic.
passive aggressive blame transfer?
Toronto Pizzeria offers free pizza to disappointed American voters who actually move to Canada
I am OK with this.
I think even Epi would approve of a deep dish in this instance.
It's a sad day if Canada is a beacon of freedom and reasonable government.
Obama is late....as usual
Can't wait for all my FREE SHIT. It's like Santa came disguised as a pampered, upper-class, skinny half-black dude wearing a designer suit.
That, oddly enough, was how I always pictured Santa.
I just remembered that Helicopter Bernanke will be keeping his job.

Welcome to New France!
What was started? Where is forward exactly?
Forward is where you will be asked to bend in order for the full rape to begin.
Faster, lemmings! Forward over the cliff!
For once BO isn't lying. Hope you're proud of yourselves, Reason authors.
I guess we're going to have to put up with Tulpa's guilt tripping for the next four years
There's nothing I can do that's worse than having to live with your conscience.
Edward. THE Edward?! Edward from Hit and Run? Noooooooooooooooooooo.............
Tulpa, did you know that if all the Gary Johnson supporters had voted for Romney, Romney would have won?
No, I don't know that, probably because it's not true.
Not sure what your point is, unless you're just attempting to tweak me.
Do the math.
Well, if all the Romney supporters had voted for Johnson, HE would've won!
"Do the math."
Okay,
57098650 + 1,012,617 =
58111267
Johnson + Romney = 58111267
Obama = 59725608
Obama: "Hope is that stubborn thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us ..."
So, apparently he is admitting that people voted for him hoping that, despite all evidence to the contrary, the next 4 years will be better than the last.
Hope is the thing that tells you, yes, you CAN fuck over all the people who are self-reliant and independent enough to be worth being a parasite on!
Hope in one hand...
Yeah my Dad taught me that one. Hope in one hand, sh*t in the other, see which one fills up first.
I just wish he had taught me about analogies first.
Today is the clearest proof yet http://www.abercrombieporto.com/a-f-casquette-c-6.html that, against the odds, ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.
Now that's irony.
I guess not all spam bots are created equal.
ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.
I'd say it shows ordinary Americans can be duped into propping them up, not that it's anything new.
ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.
That sure didn't happen this time.
(Unless he was referring to the one bright spot of the evening, when Colorado opted out of the drug war.)
-jcr
I hope there is a showdown regarding this. Mainly, I hope Colorado and Washington collectively tell the federal government to fuck off.
Did Gary Johnson get his 5%?
No.
"I will spend the rest of my presidency honoring your support, and doing what I can to finish what we started."
Does he mean raping the taxpayer?
They didn't overcome the powerful union interests (who gave Obama money), they didn't overcome the powerful financial interests (who gave Obama money), they didn't overcome the powerful government bureaucrat interests (who gave Obama money), and they didn't overcome the powerful defense industry interests (who gave Obama money).
So what powerful interests did these ordinary Americans overcome?
Their powerful self interest?
The ones in their imaginations?
Those mythical evil ones which always support that "other" guy, whoever they may be.
Michigan Ballot Proposal 2 (Constitutional Amendment for public workers unions to collective bargain) is going down in defeat.
Barack Obama: We're Going to Finish What We Started
Excellent. Let the cleansing fires begin.
He's going to finish undermining every principle of individual liberty that this country was founded upon.
He's going to make sure that everyone is enslaved to an entitlement program they are forced to participate in, which will then be used as a justification for dictating the most minute details of their lives.
he hasn't destroyed all the jobs yet, so he does still have work to do.
he hasn't destroyed all the jobs yet, so he does still have work to do.
There's aren't enough poor people, yet. Too many are still part of the bourgeoisie.
"We're Going to Finish What We Started"
Great, that's all we need.
Cue the Horsemen...
Ever wonder how different the world might be without Joe Biden?
Certainly it would be slightly less absurd and funny but I think having a rich old white guy who isn't competent enough to run a hot dog cart much less a country within a heartbeat of the presidency probably keeps a lot of radicals in check.
probably keeps the potential articles of impeachment in check as well.
a little ridiculous how Barack Obama thinks he's overcoming "powerful interests." He is blatantly a crony president that dishes out massive amounts of money to special interests.
a little ridiculous how Barack Obama thinks he's overcoming "powerful interests."
He doesn't think this. He's just throwing bones to the dogs.
Forward, Marxist soldiers.
H.L. Menken said that Democracy is giving the people what they want--Good and hard. I think the republican house ought to say fine. President Obama--We will pass any legislation you propose over the next year, provided that you talked about in a debate, TV ad, or public speach. And then we will vote to repeal all of those things before the 2014 elections. The people wanted higher taxes--let them have it, and see how they like the result.
It seems that the older I have become, the more I can relate to Mencken and his work. Is that a bad thing?
I see the Libs' Masters have issued their orders. I've had two union people tell me today that the market is tanking because of some plot or something (I really can't follow the logic) by the Repubs trying to make Obama look bad.
So which of these are unfinished?
His record number of deportations
-His handling of the economy
-Focus on crony capitalism and big labor
-Ignoring bankruptcy laws and undermining our system of laws
-General mishandling of foreign policy
-Stepping up the drone attacks on civilians
-Not closing Gitmo
-Speaking out of both sides of his mouth on states' rights then aggressively attacking legal medical marijuana dispensaries.
-Increasing the national debt by nearly 6 trillion dollars in less than 4 years
-Obamacare usurping individual liberty
-His attacks on civil liberties
-The NDAA and its power of indefinite detention without due process
-Not producing a balanced budget or insisting that the Senate produces any budget
-Waging class warfare based on the "fairness" of inequality to support wealth redistribution.
-Continuing unpopular and unnecessary wars during a significant recession
-Colluding with our adversaries while ignoring or even insulting our longtime allies.
