Boehner Optimistic About House Numbers
Thinks there will be "at least" 240 Republicans in the 113th Congress
After a wave election in 2010, it looked like Republicans would have to play defense this time around. But just days before Election Day 2012, House Speaker John Boehner was confident his party has done enough to hold onto -- if not expand -- the majority that keeps him in office.
In an interview aboard his campaign bus, wrapped in a custom shell of a color his aides refer to as "Boehner Green," Boehner told The Hotline he expects the 113th Congress to have "at least" 240 Republicans -- the same number his party has now, not counting the five vacancies open before Election Day.
