On the 16th floor of a high-rise office building across the street from the State House, three members of a powerful five-member committee that most people likely never heard of met last week – via conference call –to approve taxpayer-backed incentives for largely secret business projects.

A Nerve reporter was present for the Enterprise Program Committee meeting – the first reporter to attend such a meeting in more than five years, according to meeting minutes – which was held in a conference room at the S.C. Department of Commerce.
