Teen Paralyzed in School Beatdown Suing District

The assailant, who received a five year prison term for the savage beating, had been suspended from school the day before but still allowed into class


The 19-year-old man was noticeably absent when his multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Irvington school board went to trial Monday in Superior Court in Newark.

The jury, instead of seeing Anwar Patterson, was shown two blown-up photos of the "fun-loving young man with the gift of youth," as his attorney said.
