The 19-year-old man was noticeably absent when his multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Irvington school board went to trial Monday in Superior Court in Newark.
The jury, instead of seeing Anwar Patterson, was shown two blown-up photos of the "fun-loving young man with the gift of youth," as his attorney said.
