Bermuda Braces for Hurricane Leslie

Hurricane won't make U.S. landfall but will hit the British territory

Hurricane Leslie marked time early Friday, spinning in place over the open Atlantic before an expected resumption of its northward advance toward this wealthy British territory later in the day.

Residents crowded into stores Thursday to stock up on supplies, while hotels reported cancellations of trips to Bermuda, which is popular with tourists for its pink sand beaches, and with businesspeople as an offshore financial haven.
