Shenanigans!
A worm's-eye view of what it takes to get someone I can stand elected president.

I won't like anyone who wants to be president anyway.
What if I want to be president just because, the way I would do it, it would be the easiest job on Earth? How hard is it to veto everything and empty out schedule A and B?
THAT'S A FRIDAY FUNNY!
what it takes to get someone I can stand elected president
It takes me dropping all my principles and becoming a TEAM hack scumbag.
So, basically, it wouldn't take anything.
Precisely, JJ. I long ago sold my soul to TEAM ALLISONBRIE.
Not much for group decisions, are you?
Welcome back, Peter. It's nice to see your work in Reason again.
He draws Gary Johnson like he draws Ron Paul.
I think Peter hates libertarian candidates.
Why are they always so worried and shifty eyed in your drawings Peter?
I'll just leave this here:
Peter Bagge
1. Who are you voting for in November [2008]? If the polls in my home state are close: Obama (McCain is simply too incompetent these days to be president). If not, I'll make a protest vote for Barr.
Sooo, are you saying you'd have preferred he vote for McCain? It's not like there were any good choices in that election. I don't blame someone for not wanting another Republican after Bush back then, even if Obama (and Barr for that matter) were poor choices.
He voted in Seattle.
He should have wrote in Ron Paul or voted for Barr.
What you think one vote against Obama in Washington State would have hurt his chances of getting elected?
Peter should have drawn himself joining in with the other 80% of Seattle which voted for drone kill Obama.
The Barr slam was pretty good in the cartoon...until you realize that Barr has not killed anyone...Peter voted for Obama...who promised to stop the killing.
Peter can even bring himself to say "opps".
All I hear is "Whine whine whine, Bagge didn't do what I did."
And it's not like anyone could have predicted "drone kill Obama" anyway.
And it's not like anyone could have predicted "drone kill Obama" anyway.
You were not paying attention then.
What makes you think he didn't vote for Barr?
The discussion he depicts of himself and the LP guy with the yellow shirt. Plus this:
1. Who are you voting for in November [2008]? If the polls in my home state are close: Obama (McCain is simply too incompetent these days to be president). If not, I'll make a protest vote for Barr.
Polls in Washington State have not been close since Reagen. Why even mention it unless he is simply looking for cover to vote Obama.
I've always enjoyed Bagge's consistency in drawing himself glowering hovered over the buffet table.
The most memorable Bagge frames got nuthin' to do with ideologic content: "I've got the right of way, buddy!" "Oooh, cookies!" "It's still the Devil's music!" I especially love his depictions of "cycles" such as in y out of jail with medical marijuana and monorailing to and back (vomiting) from Mariners games.
