A murder investigation led to the discovery of an illegal cockfighting operation and hundreds of malnourished roosters

Hundreds of malnourished cockfighting roosters found at a Southern California business have been euthanized.

Santa Paula officers investigating last month's fatal stabbing of a 34-year-old man at the Telegraph Road business found about 300 roosters Tuesday during a warrant search.
