    Beard.

    1. I, Kahn OClast   13 years ago

Jinx, you owe me a coke!

    2. Episiarch   13 years ago

You think her husband is gay, Lucy?

  2. I, Kahn OClast   13 years ago

    Epic. Beard. Man.

  3. $park?   13 years ago

Must be the superstitious "election beard." I guess we'll know who he was rooting for if he still has it on Nov 7.

    1. Matt Welch   13 years ago

It very likely won't last the weekend.

      1. The Hammer   13 years ago

Come on, you're only about 2 weeks away from looking like Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting.

      2. Steven Smith   13 years ago

Don't let them bully you. I kept my Stanley Cup beard as well, and I've never looked better !!!

      3. Mr. Soul   13 years ago

that's what Kris Kringle said when he was running from the Burgermeister!

  4. The Other Kevin   13 years ago

I'm ok with the beard, as long has he doesn't start showing up in pictures holding a cat or a large mug of beer.

    1. $park?   13 years ago

I'd be more worried about him showing up with shoulder length hair and a hemp shirt.

      1. Brett L   13 years ago

I think he's already been through that phase.

  5. Killazontherun   13 years ago

Keep that thing evenly trimmed low to accentuate the cheekbone. Think Satan, not Grizzly Adams.

  6. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

It's like Welch doesn't want us to even acknowledge the topic at hand.

    1. Velcro Bootstraps   13 years ago

As soon as I saw the screen shot I went straight to the comments to see what people were saying about the beard.

    2. Killazontherun   13 years ago

He knows we have the ADD bad around here, and he does it anyway. What's the topic, something about a Fest? Dude, Bonnaroo was like a month ago.

  7. Fatty Bolger   13 years ago

My uncle grew a beard just like that when he had his midlife crisis. Did anybody at Reason notice a shiny new sports car in the parking lot?

    1. Broseph of Invention   13 years ago

When male libertarians have a mid-life crisis ("Man-archy"), we buy land in the Wyoming Basin just west of the Bighorns and get a homosexual lover because being gay is so damn logical. Not to be confused with "becoming a cowboy".

    2. The Hammer   13 years ago

I would be severely disappointed if there aren't dozens of shiny new sports cars in Reason's parking lot on any given day.

  8. Paul.   13 years ago

Matt Welch appears on RT! He's a shill for Big Russia!

  9. GILMORE   13 years ago

    Theres something on Matt's face.

  10. GILMORE   13 years ago

I could only identify the thing on the right by its tie.

  11. RandomJackass   13 years ago

Matt is just gearing up for this: http://www.worldbeardchampionships.com/

  12. MWG   13 years ago

Welch's beard: a lame attempt to counterbalance the hegemony of Gillespie's 'jacket'.

  13. db   13 years ago

The summer is the worst time to grow a beard, Matt.

    1. Brett L   13 years ago

Which is why a libertarian would do it.
