TSA Agent Opens Canister Containing Man's Grandfather's Ashes, Spills It, Laughs
An appalling TSA story for the books:
John Gross, a resident of Indianapolis' south side, was leaving Florida with the remains of his grandfather—Mario Mark Marcaletti, a Sicilian immigrant who worked for the Penn Central Railroad in central Indiana—in a tightly sealed jar marked "Human Remains."
"They opened up my bag, and I told them, 'Please, be careful. These are my grandpa's ashes,'" Gross told RTV6's Norman Cox. "She picked up the jar. She opened it up."I was told later on that she had no right to even open it, that they could have used other devices, like an X-ray machine. So she opened it up. She used her finger and was sifting through it. And then she accidentally spilled it."
Gross says about a quarter to a third of the contents spilled on the floor, leaving him frantically trying to gather up as much as he could while anxious passengers waited behind him."She didn't apologize. She started laughing. I was on my hands and knees picking up bone fragments. I couldn't pick up all, everything that was lost. I mean, there was a long line behind me."
In other news, Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) has proposed to extend TSA services to all mass transit.

I dont think you could find a jury that would have convicted if he had "lost it" and beat her senseless.
Is the "she needed killin'" defense valid in Florida?
A Florida jury will almost always be 50% seniors. I think you can imagine how they would feel about some idiot desecrating remains. Of course, they also are over represented in their desire for ever more security, so it might be a wash.
That's actionable, too. I'd sue the shit out of the TSA. If that's allowed, anyway.
That's only actionable to little people, not to your masters.
Now, get back to the scrapin' and bowin' and mind your place.
I submit to my betters.
Well in her defense, Mario Mark Marcaletti sounds pretty terroristy.
I'm sure he was associated with an Italian anarchist movement, right?
"I want them to help me understand where they get off treating people like this."
*blank* you, that's why. Anyone? Anyone?
Well, it's more that they get off treating people like this.
*Thank*?
*something* U-C-K. *something* U-C-K. Anyone?
duck?
Voodoo?
Yuck. That has to be it, because it's so heelarious.
"I want them to help me understand where they get off treating people like this."
Fuck you, that's why.
Seriously, he should ask a psychologist who specialises in bullies and sadists
Also that stupid Sicilian blew his chance to throw the ashes everywhere in a fit of rage and have the place shut down as a biohazard for hours and hours.
That would have been truly awesome.
And, while doing this, screaming at the top of his lungs "Cursed be this woman and all in her employing agency forever! And never shall the ghost of my grandfather let this airport operate in peace!"
"In other news, Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) has proposed to extend TSA services to all mass transit."
That'll really increase ridership on mass transit! Is stupid a requirement for politics?
As a pilot test, the TSA should extend its services to Rep. Speier's (if that is really her name) private vehicles.
"Need to check ya ass hole."
"Ass hole clear."
I feel safer already.
Is stupid a requirement for politics?
In California? Please!
I remember a time when the Italians would've sorted this out by now.
The Renaissance?
Rome under Caesar.
The Godfather?
I kinda want to just start travelling with ashed corpses. It can be a stranger, I don't care. I just want to do it until they open them up. Then I'll sneeze and blow the ashes all over their face.
A TSA Spokesperson had this to say:
"Sheeeeeeeeitttt."
Nothing like a TSA story nutpunch to get the rage up. God what a bunch of useless sadistic fucking twats. Here's hoping his grandfather was a made man in the sicilian costra nostra. I'd love for the TSA goon to wake up with a horse head in her bed.
That would be appropriate seeing as how she's a horse's ass.
I thought it was the "cosa nostra".
Proper procedures were followed. Or something.
9/11 changed everything.
So how many of you assholes are still flying?
Incidentally, I ran across an interesting comment on a TSA story a few weeks back. Paraphrasing, it read 'Why is everyone so upset, this is the same shit we have to deal with in the ghetto on a daily basis.' Interesting reminder that the atrocious violation of ones personal space is something that happens thousands of times a day to people who can't afford a plane ticket. I have to admit feeling a bit of schadenfreude thinking that the TSA is finally giving whitey a taste of his own medicine.
I've flown ONCE since 2001. That's all it took. Anyone that complains about the TSA but still flies is dumber than any TSA goon.
Desecration of remains. I sure there is a law against that.
Let's see, the TSA now not only has desecration of remains checked off, but elder abuse, pedophilia with the groping and terrorizing of little girls, discrimination against the handicapped, attempted homicide forcing the girl with the insulin pump through the scanner which broke her pump and nearly killed her. What else...
Don't worry. I'm sure the TSA agent will get her promotion and medal soon.
This screener is a disgrace. She spills crematory ashes then laughs at the passenger struggling to collect them, what kind of animal does that? This is what we get when TSA hires high school dropouts with rap sheet, gives them a mall cop badge and allows them to harass innocent people with impunity.
This is another case where a TSA screener disobeyed regulations, abused their position and caused harm to a passenger.
What are the victim's options when there is no complaint venue or means of recourse for these abuses by screeners except through TSA?
TSA and the airlines refer to passengers as "fares" and have absolutely no regard for the feelings or welfare of the passenger. They often treat us with less respect than a freight shipment.
Every other occupation is accountable for their actions including police, medical personnel and teachers. If they exceed their authority or abuse their position, the victim can prosecute the individual and sue their employer.
There are laws to protect citizens from abuses by police for a reason and the same standards should be applied to TSA.
It is unacceptable to continue to allow these creeps to harass and humiliate people on a whim. The agent should be prosecuted for desecrating human remains and the agency sued for millions in damages.
Every time they screw up like this, and they will do it often, people need to go after them hard.
