Ronald Bailey on the End of International Environmentalism
Twenty years ago the first Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro marked the ascension of environmentalism as a political force in international affairs. Back in 1992, activist Chris Flavin of the Worldwatch Institute crowed that environmentalism was the "most powerful political ideal today." Reason Science Correspondent Ronald Bailey has just returned from the "failed" Rio +20 Earth Summit, where it became clear that that is no longer true.
