A socially indifferent Conservative (me), would agree that immigration should be addressed after other issues.

Real Libertarians would point at you and make the Invasion of the Body Snatchers sound for your impurity. Then they would wave Nick and Matt's book at you while trying to preform an exorcism.

That is the difference.

perino's question is a pretty good one, I think.

It seems to me there is a great deal of common ground between socially liberal conservatives and libertarians. John, our resident conservative, comes to mind for example. John is pretty libertarian in his thinking and yet claims to be a conservative, at least I think he does. John and I think alike on many issues.
