Brickbat: Getting Plowed
Ottawa resident Doug Rochow noticed the city hadn't plowed the snow away from a couple of well-used footpaths near his home. So he went out and removed the snow himself, as he has done for years. City officials found out about that and visited his home to tell him to stop. Official say the paths are unsafe for the elderly or handicapped to use in the winter, so they don't want anyone on them at all. Rochow says people are still using the paths and it's even more dangerous when there's snow on them.

Top. Men. Eh?
Rochow says people are still using the paths
Obviously he is mistaken. City officials do not want people to use the paths, therefor people aren't using the paths. Anyone Rochow sees using the paths aren't using the paths because the city officials don't want them to use the paths.
Sheesh.
What's he going to trust? His stupid eyes or the city counsel?
"If it's not safe for somebody, it's not safe for anybody!"
Everyone must have equally crappy options.
we're talking about walking, man. Walking. Not running. Not driving. Not skateboarding. Walking.
Governments spend most of their time finding something wrong wit the under-class.

What do they do during the summer, flood it?
Almost every path is unsafe for the handicapped to traverse alone, at any time of year.
Then we must block ALL paths. It's the only solution.
^^THIS^^
That's the heart of it there. But since there aren't any signs out there, they would still have liability. So, failsies.
You can't have elderlies and hadicapped getting in contact with snow. They're like Gremlins and water - bad things happen.
The snow isn't so bad. It's the pavement just underneath that does the damage.
While they're at it, tell them to move that "Deer Crossing" sign - it's not safe for the deer to cross at that location.
Isn't Canada related to England?
